Hi, I’m Italo.

I recently graduated with my Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, with a focus on digital marketing and communications management.

What draws me to marketing is pretty simple: I like helping solve problems for people. Whether it’s through a product, service, or idea, I enjoy finding ways to make something more useful, more relevant, or easier for someone to connect with.

I have a sharp eye for branding and the strategy behind it, but I also like having numbers to back up the decisions I make. I’m especially interested in using research, statistics, and measurable results to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and where to go next.

My goal is to become a digital marketer and strategist who can see the bigger picture, make thoughtful decisions, and turn strong ideas into work that drives real results.

Why the 8 ball?

You might have noticed an 8 ball showing up around my website.

The simple reason is that I really like pool. If there’s a table nearby, I’m probably going to want to play.

But there are also two ideas behind why I chose it as my symbol. First, in pool, the 8 ball is the one everything eventually comes down to. Second, on a completely different note, a Magic 8 Ball is something you can ask just about anything and somehow expect an answer from.

Both of those resonate with me. The first is about how I work: I get extremely motivated when I know others are counting on me to get things done. The second is about what I’m curious about: I enjoy knowing a little bit about everything. In marketing, that means strategy, research, analytics, writing, design, video, technology, presenting, and talking to people all interest me.

I was once told that to be a great marketer, you have to be a Swiss Army knife. That’s stuck with me throughout my years of studying and putting what I’ve learned into practice.

I might not have the answer to everything, but I’m always eager to improve my craft and take on new problems.

Projects

  • The final project for my Marketing Practicum course. My group built a strategic plan for Modern Warrior, a martial arts academy in New Westminster, to bring more kids into its after-school programs. We ran primary and secondary research to find, with the numbers behind it, the most effective way to reach the target market and position the academy against its competitors. The client came away with a campaign ready to launch: a written report and a visual presentation covering next steps, cost breakdowns and sample mock-ups.

  • Edited compilation with theme of the popular video game “Minecraft”. Edited on DaVinci Resolve.

  • The thinking behind this website. Before building anything, I worked out the rules for my own brand: the italo wordmark, the 8 ball mark, a strict two-colour palette and how it all sits on the page. These guidelines became the blueprint the whole portfolio was built from.

  • Local business Off The Reel invited me out to a client’s Canada Day event to create light-hearted engagement content for TikTok, and to shoot B-roll documenting the day.

  • A new menu for Pho You, a local restaurant on East Hastings in Vancouver. I worked back and forth with the client until the design felt like theirs, while making sure every dish was shown clearly and accurately.

  • I created this presentation for a visual communications class. It shows how I build a branded PowerPoint deck that still gets the information across clearly. The slides here are stills, and the deck looks a lot cleaner on Canva, so open it there to see it played the way it was meant to be.

  • A video made to be posted on LinkedIn, explaining the value Off The Reel brings to its clients and walking viewers through its lead generation process.

  • A customer at the dealership wanted to know more about the 2026 Honda Prologue, and they wanted it on paper. There wasn’t a printed version that covered what they needed, so I made one myself. It’s a two-page, on-brand product sheet with accurate specs, trims and features, and it shows I can turn detailed information into professional, branded documents people can rely on.

  • A Portuguese take on the New York Times’ Wordle. It has all the features, feel and animations of the original. The only difference is that you’re guessing in Brazilian Portuguese.

  • I helped out with the recording side of the dealership’s regular engagement content, the short videos that go out on its social media pages.
